If you find an ancestor was "b 1847" does this mean they were born or baptised in 1847? What is the agreed abbreviation for buried, or if you find an ancestor in the records with the shortened word "bach" what does this indicate? Or what does "do" mean? If these and many other abbreviations are taxing you then take a look at this website here: http://www.familytreeassociation.org/abbreviations.html
